Online PR News – 15-September-2011 – – Acorn Media will release the hilarious Brush Strokes 25th Anniversary DVD on Monday 5 September and fans of classic British comedy can pre-order their copy from the Acorn Media website right now.

To commemorate the DVD release, Brush Strokes star Karl Howman, took a trip down memory lane, looking back on one of the most enjoyable and rewarding periods in a cracking media career.

Howman charmed the nation as cheeky chappy, painter decorator Jacko, who alongside sidekick Eric found his way into many a sitcom scrape.

The show was a huge success upon release, and actor turned director Howman says that, while nobody could have predicted their runaway success, the vibes were good before the show hit the screen.

“At the time we had no idea how it would progress. We took it one series at a time. It was unusual really because our first series was initially seven episodes but then they didn’t release it and they asked us to do another six shows so we had 13 episodes when the first series was eventually transmitted which was a really good start for the show.

“When they agreed to do the extra six episodes after the initial seven we had a feeling then that we may be on to something.

“From that first series on, it was just year after year. You got a call around January asking you if you wanted to come in and do some filming and that was it. There were no golden handcuffs or anything, you were pretty much free to do whatever and you didn’t know from one year to another.

“It was good fun though and we had a great cast. We all got on really well and the work environment was great. We all enjoyed it.”

For plenty of good fun of your own, join Jacko and Eric as they try their luck with everyone from the boss’s daughter to a novice nun. It’s colourful, goodhearted fun and every episode is plastered with laugh out loud comedy moments.
