Sunday Times University Guide 2012 placed Newcastle University in 12th
Online PR News – 16-September-2011 – – Mumbai, 12th September, 2011: Newcastle University, UK, the global partner of ECube Global College, Mumbai, announced that they have been placed 12th in the country by the Sunday Times University Guide 2012.
The announcement was made on 11th September, 2011 with the Sunday Times (UK). The guide sees Newcastle University rise eight places on last year's rankings to come 12th in the country. Together with a graduate employment rate of 94.5 per cent - the highest among North East Universities – Newcastle University also has the highest proportion of graduate-level jobs at 82.6 per cent.
Teaching excellence overall is 77.5 per cent following the recent satisfaction rating of 89% in the National Student Survey. The guide, released this week, puts Newcastle at 25th place in the UK, the same position as last year, but with substantial improvements to its overall score and to its performance in several of the key indicators.
Welcoming the announcement, Vice-Chancellor Professor Chris Brink said: “Rising to twelfth highlights the success of our graduates in the job market and reflects positively on the relevant and transferable skills they have gained during their time at Newcastle.
"It is a credit to the staff at the University and we welcome this national recognition of our achievements from the Sunday Times University Guide.”
The 64-page guide, now in its 14th year, is published this Sunday, September 11 with The Sunday Times.
