EQ-COMP becomes among the select few VLE softwares in the world to include temperature dependent binary interaction parameters as per PPR 78 equation

Online PR News – 15-September-2011 – – EQ-COMP provides correct VLE results using Peng-Robinson cubic equation of state for almost any composition of non-polar hydrocarbons. Binary interaction parameters are required in these calculations to increase the accuracy of VLE results. Recently provision for including binary interaction parameters in the calculations of EQ-COMP has been made. At present suitable constant binary interaction parameters can be included in the calculations of EQ-COMP. Further EQ-COMP has included temperature dependent binary interaction parameters as per Predictive Peng Robinson 78 (PPR 78) equation in its calculations. Predictive Peng Robinson 78 equation is given by Jaubert and his colleagues and provides temperature dependent binary interaction parameters for Peng-Robinson cubic equation of state for alkanes, cyclic hydrocarbons, aromatics, N2, H2S and CO2 presently. It is likely to include alkenes, alkynes, water and H2 in the near future. Predictive Peng Robinson 78 equation is becoming an industrial benchmark as far as binary interaction parameters for Peng-Robinson cubic equation of state are concerned. The results derived by using temperature dependent binary interaction parameters from PPR 78 are considerably more accurate than those derived using no binary interaction parameters or constant binary interaction parameters.
