Niagara Falls Great Wolf Lodge Recognized for Excellence in Human Resources

Lodge wins national tourism award

Online PR News – 07-January-2010 – – NIAGARA FALLS, Ontario – (January 7, 2010) – The top executives of Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls believe that treating their team members well is the key to providing their guests a great experience. The Tourism Industry Association of Canada agreed and has honored the Lodge with a national award of excellence for its work in Human Resources Development.

Members of the Great Wolf Lodge management team were at Canada’s Tourism Leadership Summit when they were informed that the Lodge had won the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council (CTHRC) Award for Excellence in Human Resources Development.

“Our team approach is crucial for the development of our fine team members. We are extremely honored to be recognized by the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council,’’ Great Wolf Lodge General Manager Keith Simmonds said. “We strive every day to put the guests first. The management and team member training programs are created to ensure that the Lodge’s 650-person team is motivated and equipped to handle even the most challenging guest service situations. Forty-two finalists in 14 categories were chosen for the 2009 National Awards for Tourism Excellence. Among the finalists were individuals and organizations from all ten provinces, as well as Canada’s North. The National Awards for Tourism Excellence, presented by The Globe and Mail, were developed in 2003 by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada.

The awards allowed Canada’s tourism industry to showcase those people, places, organizations and events that went above and beyond to offer a superior tourism experience to travelers in Canada.
