Dating Magazine Survives First Year, Introduces Online Video Presence

Massachusetts Singles Magazine (MSM) continues to bring new ways to engage the unmarried professionals of Massachusetts as it reaches its first year in publishing.

MSM was launched in January 2009 in both print and online at Monthly, four featured contributors dish out advice about dating, sex, and relationships: Bobby Carr addresses these dating hot buttons, Janelle Powers speaks to ladies only in Lipstick Corner, Ken Joseney covers local sports, and Joanne Giannini writes about dating for the 40+ and divorced crowd.

In addition to a monthly publication, MSM offers a free online subscription where readers can access online copies of the publication, check the calendar for upcoming events and view photos and videos from recent events, chat with other members, and even participate in contests. Membership to the MSM site is free and is open to everyone over 18 years old, regardless of marital status. The magazine is viewed 2,000 times per month, on average.

In January, MSM is launching MSMtv, candid on-street interviews with area singles. This public forum will explore dating-related issues and get feedback to issues such as taking back a cheating lover, dating over 40, and more relevant topics. Watch for the first interviews to take place on Saturday, January 9, 2010 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Boston’s Copley Place, and the episode to air online a week later.

MSM also holds special events for the single, unmarried professionals in the Boston area. Recent events include live music at the Midway Café in Jamaica Plain and a Holiday party benefiting Father Bill's and Mainspring House.
