Volunteer and full-time youth pastors work hard to meet the rising challenges faced by teenagers. They have a passion to make a difference, but little training or support to do so. Called to Youth Ministry is a new, local organization working to provide training, personal mentorship, and networking among youth pastors in Chicagoland. A kickoff event is scheduled for January 30th in Elgin.
Online PR News – 02-January-2010 – – Youth pastors are driven by a passion to teach and mentor teens, but they are often ill-equipped with little experience. Called to Youth Ministry is a new organization designed to support those who are working to meet the rising needs of teens.
While books and conferences for youth ministry abound, many do not speak to the individual needs of the youth pastor or the sense of isolation many of these leaders face. They often experience feelings of inadequacy in the face of a plethora of expectations from their congregations and the reality of the deep issues their teens are wrestling with.
Youth pastors need more than good ideas. They need solid training, proven principles, and ongoing support. Called to Youth Ministry provides that and more.
Through a unique approach, Called to Youth Ministry equips youth pastors with skills and principles that have been proven to effectively reach students and bring lasting change in their lives. But Called to Youth Ministry goes further to also provide ongoing mentorship and training from experienced youth ministry coaches, and to bring youth leaders together to problem solve, network, and support each other.
On Saturday, January 30th, 2010, youth pastors from across Chicagoland and the Midwest will gather to learn proven principles in effective youth ministry. This will also be invited to begin Called to Youth Ministry’s Next Level Partnership.
The training provided on January 30th will equip youth pastors to immediately start growing their leadership team as well as begin building and implementing a strategic plan. This training will take place at Church in the Word in Elgin, IL, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, followed by a networking lunch. Speakers will include Jimn Kyles (founder of Youth Can Lead) and Jason Hartong, two youth ministry veterans with years of valuable experience.
Youth pastors that join the Next Level Partnership will join a small group of peers working in churches near them. Together, they will receive monthly training from a team of trainers and professors in addition to one-on-one mentorship. This ongoing training and support will help each youth pastor maximize their leadership potential and grow in every area, ranging from Christian living and knowledge of the Bible to discipleship and leadership.
The results are stronger families, growing churches, and significantly more effective youth ministries.
