The fastest growing mobile phone recycling company is asking people to remember to recycle their old mobile phones after the Christmas festivities have finished.

Online PR News – 26-December-2009 – – Many new mobile phones are bought and given as presents at Christmas and http://www.zonzoo.co.uk is keen for people not to forget their old phones.

Throughout its European network, zonzoo offers some of the best prices for mobile phones and also donates 5% of each phone’s value to a charity of the customer’s choice, or if none is proposed, a charity from its own list. To date the company has raised over €10 million for charity.

Mr Armstrong-Bell, zonzoo Chief Executive Officer, said:

“It’s reckoned that in the UK alone there are some three million redundant mobile phones lying around in drawers, or cupboards, and at this time of year, when so many new phones will be given as presents, we’re asking people to remember to have a go at recycling. Not only will they get cash for their old phone, but they will help charity and ultimately help the environment.

“And if there’s three million unused mobile phones in the UK, think how many there are lying about in the other six European countries in which we operate. It’s likely to be far more than ten million handsets which will need to be recycled.”

In 2009 alone zonzoo will have recycled nearly two million mobile phones and estimates it will treble that figure in 2010. It recycles mobile phones from the public and for such corporate customers as Nectar, Tesco, T-Mobile, Telenor, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone.
