About Dr Thomas Susko:
Thomas Susko, M.D. was born and raised in Los Angeles and graduated from Loyola Marymount University. Fluent in German, he went to medical school in Munich, Germany as a way to grow personally and culturally. While doing a clinical rotation in Denver, he felt a strong affinity for the rheumatologists and realized, "I am one of these people." What he likes best about his medical specialty is the deep, long-term, personal relationships he develops with his patients since most of them have life-long conditions such as osteoarthritis (OA), lupus, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), or fibromyalgia.
In the past eight years, since Dr. Susko has been in private practice in Santa Monica, he has begun examining his patients' extremities looking for subtle signs of RA even when it is asymptomatic, and by discovering the disease six months to three years before actual symptoms would have begun, can slow down the RA progression with treatment.
Dr. Susko is board-certified in internal medical with a sub-specialty in rheumatology. He is a medical staff member of Saint John's Health Center, Cedars Sinai Medical Center, and Saint Vincent Medical Center.
