“This event has been successful for us in the past" says owner Charlotte Maris. "Each year it continues to grow and we are happy to offer this service to our clients and the community.”
To prevent identity theft, businesses and individuals should shred sensitive financial documents. Here is a list of documents one should shred and may bring to the event: Credit card applications, expired credit cards, bank cards, passports, visas, and identification cards (college, military, employee badges, etc.).
However, not all documents should be shredded. Here is a list of documents that should never be shred: birth, marriage, divorce or death certificates. It is also necessary to know what documents to shred monthly, yearly and for tax related documents, every 7-10 years.
