Family Dining in Great Wolf Lodge’s Life-Size Gingerbread House Raises Sweet Dough for Charity

Niagara Falls Lodge passes $3,000 milestone, last-minute reservations still welcome for holidays

Online PR News – 22-December-2009 – – Niagara Falls, ON– (Dec. 22, 2009) –Hundreds of visitors to the Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls have discovered a fun, new holiday tradition – enjoying a holiday meal while seated in a life-sized gingerbread house! Sure, some people are content to build a small gingerbread house but few have had the opportunity to walk through the front door of a real gingerbread house and sit down for a holiday meal.

Even though the clock is quickly ticking down to the holidays, last-minute reservations are still available but space is quite limited.

The entire $20 reservation fee (meals are additional) from this holiday experience goes to benefit the Child Advocacy Centre Niagara, a local organization that uses a child-focused approach to child abuse cases. So far, more than $3,000 has been raised this year at Great Wolf Lodge for children in Niagara’s 12 municipalities who have suffered abuse.

To book a reservation, call (905) 354-4888 or visit the Lodge’s concierge desk. Select holiday dining times are still available. Guests can be seated at the gingerbread house through Jan. 3.

This is the third consecutive year that the Great Wolf Lodge has partnered with a local agency. To date, more than $7,500 has been raised for local charities.

Looking like it came straight out of Candyland, the gingerbread house can seat six guests inside and can accommodate nine seatings each day for breakfast, lunch or dinner. When not being used to feed the adventurous, the gingerbread structure is home to Santa where he meets good little boys and girls.

Great Wolf Lodge staff took nearly 300 hours to complete this titanic treat. The finished structure features a mind-bending amount of sweets, including:
• 1,000 pounds of icing
• 150 pounds of chocolate
• 28 batches of cookies

For reservations at the Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls, visit or call (800) 605-9653.
