Lee Byers, Ltd., the international investment firm, announced today that it will be transitioning its communication systems from Research In Motion's Blackberry line of mobile devices to products running the iOS operating system from Apple, Inc..
Online PR News – 08-July-2011 – – "The Blackberries have served us well for many years," said Victor Liu, manager of communications for the firm, "but, more and more, our employees are using their personal iPhones, iPads, and even iPods to dash off a quick SMS text message or email. There is no sense bucking the trend."
The anticipated iPhone 5 along with the associated 5th generation of Apple's mobile operating will introduce a new messaging platform named iMessage. It is expected to match Blackberry's BBM capabilities feature for feature and add a number of refinements not available on any current handset or tablet device.
The yet to be announced (and unnamed) 5th generation iPhone is expected to be released in September. Unsourced rumors also hint at the possibility of a new iPad in the same timeframe.
"We are all looking forward to the new hardware and the expanded functionality," said Mr. Liu. "We have evaluated all options and the Apple line wins hands down."
