Book collectors breathed a sigh of relief at the announcement that Norwood Press will fill the void left by publishers who will no longer print hardcover editions of certain e-books.
Online PR News – 09-July-2011 – – Meeting the growing demand of reader, collector and independent booksellers, Norwood Press is expanding their publishing division by offering hardcover editions of select e-book releases. Many feel left out by the growing trend of bestselling authors who are abandoning legacy publishers and releasing their newest works in e-book format only.
Collectors of signed books feel the pain of this new trend more than any segment as hardcover books by their favorite authors become unavailable. Recent moves by mass merchandisers to solely offer trade paperback editions of some titles only serves to further alienate collectors.
“What collectors want are finely produced hardcover books with full color dust jackets, signed by the authors,” says John Hutchinson of Norwood Press (http://www.norwoodpress.com). Hutchinson is the co-founder of Norwood Press along with Virginia Lenneville. They are well known to the market as the owners of VJ Books (http://www.vjbooks.com), which has been serving the book collector for over 15 years.
“Over the years we have become friends with authors, many who are moving to the e-book format for their new novels. Our objective is to create small run, signed editions of these titles designed to meet the demands of collectors who are best served by a small number of independent booksellers,” adds Hutchinson.
Norwood Press (http://www.norwoodpress.com) is an imprint of VJ Books. For over 12 years they have produced fine editions by some of the biggest authors currently in print including Clive Cussler, Justin Scott, Ken Follett, Jack DuBrul, Grant Blackwood, Paul Kemprecos, Blake Crouch, Joe Konrath, and Amy Tan.
