Unitech Limited, India's leading business group having operations in large-scale integrated real-estate development and infrastructure projects, has received an overwhelming response to its recently launched mid-income housing projects – Chaitanya & Ekanta in Chennai, with close to 500 bookings already received. Phase I of these projects has been completely sold out. These two projects are part of a 70-acre township, North Town being developed by Unitech in Perambur, Chennai.

North Town Township is strategically located in the heart of North Chennai-the thriving trade and commerce hub of the city. The project is also in close proximity to the upcoming IT hub in Ambattur. Chaitanya & Ekanta are mid-income housing projects and have units comprising 1, 2 and 3 Bed Room apartments in sizes ranging from 630 to 1396 sq.ft. The development also has all modern amenities such as clubhouse with gymnasium, swimming pool, central landscaping etc.

Bhumi Puja was performed on June 19, 2011 at the project site and was attended by over 1000 people.

North Town is a joint venture project between Unitech Ltd. and Arihant Foundations and Housing Ltd. This 70-acre development has been planned to have approx. 8 million sq.ft. of area.

Commenting on the launch Unitech spokesperson said, “We have strengthened our footprint in Southern India with the launch of Chaitanya and Ekanta in Chennai. Our previous launches like Gardens Galleria in Bangalore, Uniworld City, Greenwood City, Birch Court and Gardens in Chennai; Palace Court in Mysore have been very successful. The launch of Chaitanya and Ekanta is in line with our business plan to launch almost 10 million square feet of projects during the current calendar year.”
As already clarified, the ongoing telecom matter pertains to Unitech Wireless Tamilnadu Pvt. Ltd. (Uninor), which is a separate legal entity engaged in the telecom business, and will not impact Unitech Limited, the real estate company. Unitech would continue to focus on its real estate business, in the normal course.
