Online PR News – 16-December-2009 – – Essex-based company ##--1--## have been advising their clients about how to make the most of the busiest time of the year with some top PPC tips about capturing last minute conversions. Here they offer a few ideas, all of which are ideal for the Christmas period. All tips can conveniently be applied quickly, but will have big effects on your adverts performances.
First High Position recommends that companies check their AdWords budget; if the campaigns are reaching their targets daily then some of your adverts may not be showing for all searches of your keywords. Budget for the increased Christmas traffic and you won’t miss out on sales.
Retail companies should keep showing their ads from December the 25th onwards as last year Experian Hitwise noted that traffic to sites had increased considerably on Christmas Day and Boxing Day was considered the busiest time of the entire year for online retailers.
Tom Bowden, part of High Position’s PPC team says, “It is vital that you are prepared for the Christmas and New Year period. This is the time of year where opportunity is greatest. Ensure your budgets are right, focus on your best adverts and focus on your best performing keywords.” He then adds, “Consumer habits are not as predictable as they once were. People are taking greater care with their money so you will have to work harder than ever to make sales. ”
Lastly High Position recommends that if like many companies your budget is tight and you want to prioritise your spending then divide up your keywords based on the conversion rate or click through rate (CTR) in your AdWords Campaigns tab. If you are using your entire budget daily, pausing keywords that are under-performing in the Festive period will show your adverts more often for the higher-hitting keywords.
