Executive Women of Dallas is a nonprofit organization of women executives, professionals, entrepreneurs, and elected and appointed government officials in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area who are recognized for their outstanding career achievements and community service. Founded in 1976, EWD membership is limited to 100 executive women who hold senior-level decision-making positions in major organizations or lead their own businesses.

She earned her law degree, with honors, from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 1993, and her undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University in 1986.
In addition to her involvement in EWD, she serves on the board of directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, and is a member of Altrusa International Inc. of Downtown Dallas and the National Association of Women Lawyers.
