An East London businessman has been appointed regional president of leading trade body The Painting and Decorating Association.
Online PR News – 04-June-2011 – – For 18 months, Steve Purdy - a trained quantity surveyor - will hold the chain of office for the PDA’s South East region.
During that time he is keen to see the region attract new members - and support those already in membership.
Steve is also keen to see a higher percentage of local painting and decorating companies put forward for work in and around the capital – including the Olympics.
His own company, Topcoat Construction Ltd, based in Leyton, has been a member of the PDA for eleven years – whilst Steve himself has lived and worked in the region his entire life.
Steve said, “We have one of the biggest regional memberships in the PDA and there are many opportunities. I know this will take lots of effort but I am determined to get us there.”
Notes to Editors
The Painting and Decorating Association was established in July 2002, following a merger of the British Decorators’ Association and the Painting & Decorating Federation. The British Decorators’ Association was originally founded in 1894.
This organisation is Britain's largest trade body, dedicated to the painting and decorating trade. Members include sole traders through to large-scale national contractors employing hundreds of operatives.
Decorators looking to become members of the PDA are rigorously vetted prior to admission. Members are committed to the highest standards in health and safety practice, as well as training development.
The PDA is proud of its long history and high standards, and a registered member can be relied upon to do a good professional job at a fair price.
