Beachwood House being the head office of W.B.C.C. and Venture Wales was a befitting venue for the delegation to receive their welcome reception and short presentation from the executive body of W.B.C.C. After brief introduction to both Wales Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Venture Wales, the group were given a short but informative question and answer session on the work both organisations were doing for the local Bangladeshi business community.

The delegation was then driven to the Welsh Assembly Government Building in Cardiff where newly elected Cardiff Central A.M Jenny Rathbone was at hand to greet and welcome the delegation to the Welsh Assembly. After a brief introduction by W.B.C.C. Finance Director Mr Ali Akbar, the visiting delegates enjoyed an audience with Jenny Rathbone where many interesting issues were discussed especially the forthcoming trade mission to Bangladesh which is being organised by W.B.B.C. with the assistance of W.A.G and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

Once the brief meeting with the A.M was concluded, the group were then escorted across the very scenic Cardiff Bay area to the locally and nationally renowned Spicemerchant Bangladeshi Restaurant which was the venue for the third and final leg of the visit of the delegates. Set in grade two listed building, the Spicemerchant provided the ideal location for the special visitors and the 100 local dignitaries, W.B.C.C. members and supporters to formally welcome and receive the delegation from North Wales.

The Wales Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce is renowned for its professional approach to all the work it does, the evenings proceedings were started by Mabs Noor who gave the congregation a brief introduction to the work that W.B.B.C is doing at this moment in time. The Chairman of Executive Body Mr Dilabor Hussain gave a brief but heart-warming welcome speech to the guests. As the event was sponsored by Barclays Merchant Services, their representative Jonathan Shipman was asked to say a few words to the local and national business people. Mabs Noor emphasised how. Important it was for us to forge new links with companies like Barclaycard.

Before dinner was served, the Vice Chairperson of W.B.C.C. Mr Ana Miah was asked to summarise and present a vote of thanks speech to the party. In this summary, Mr Ana Miah thanked the visitors for making such a long journey to the capital as well as guests from all other parts of Wales, he reminded everyone that the W.B.C.C. is a non-profit organisation set up to help the profitability of its members and urged everyone to become members.

The evening was concluded with a sumptuous dinner provided by W.B.C.C. member and owner of Spicemerchant, Mr Abdul Alim and his staff who worked tirelessly alt evening to make everyone feel at home. Networking followed the meal, when many new members were signed up to represent the W.B.C.C. in North Wales. Councillor Abdul Mukith Khan, Abdul Malik, Monchob Ali JP, Abdul Hussain, Afzol Ali, Abdul Jalil, Shamsuddin Ahmed MBE and many others were present also became full members of W.B.C.C. Overall, a very successful event was enjoyed by all present.
