Neutrogena broke the Guinness World Record™ for the Largest Umbrella Mosaic with 1056 people at the MMRDA grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex on 12th May, 2011.

Neutrogena, the #1 Dermatologist Recommended skin care brand in the USA, in its continuous effort to bring about awareness on the need for sun protection broke the Guinness World Record™ for the Largest Umbrella Mosaic with 1056 people at the MMRDA grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex on 12th May, 2011.

Present at this record breaking attempt was Deepika Padukone, a brand ambassador for the Neutrogena who flagged off the event with the participants holding open each of their umbrellas in formation for 10 minutes. The umbrella mosaic formed for the record breaking attempt showcased the Neutrogena logo.

Neutrogena with its constant endeavor to promote the need for sun protection chose to attempt breaking the current record for the Largest Umbrella Mosaic which stood at 1026 by upping the ante to 1056 people. The Guinness adjudicator present at the venue verified the record attempt and certified the new record now stood with Neutrogena, India and presented the Guinness World Records™ certificate to Mr. Tushar Murdeshwar, General Manager – Marketing, , Consumer Products Division, Johnson & Johnson Limited India.

The thought behind attempting this record was to showcase to the consumers the damage inflicted on their skin by the sun and the need to be sun-protected. Dr.Rekha Sheth, a leading dermatologist was also present at the event. The umbrella mosaic demonstrated the need for sun protection in a symbolic manner.
