QiComm has officially opened the doors at its new data centre.

The new centre is located in Docklands London, and showcases cutting-edge technologies implemented to deliver enhanced energy efficiency.
The new data centre, known as Tutis Point comprises 20,000 square feet of net technical space.
Tutis have deployed plant and air conditioning designed to the highest standard and efficiencies. The fully redundant air conditioning systems utilises Electronic Expansion Valves, enabling automatic control which can throttle back when the weather is cooler are therefore much more efficient.
Redundant Generators are deployed on the ground floor of the facility complete with single day and long term fuel tanks. Rotary Fly wheels that are endorsed by the carbon trust are in place. These fly wheels use minimal energy to continue in high speed rotation. In the event of a power failure the energy in the flywheel is converted to electrical power for a short period of time until the generators take the load. Rotary UPS is not only greener, as there are no batteries but also more efficient (at 98%) than standard static systems.
QiComm worked with ZTE, a publicly-listed leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, to ensure their data centre customers receive a secure and highly scalable, high speed service with the best possible connections to global telecommunications networks. ZTE installed high specification routers, switches and firewalls to enable carrier-level communications and network management for the data centre.
In addition to providing services that will compete with today’s leading data centres, Tutis will also have 40 engineers located on site offering a high level of skill in IT and Telecoms services. Having these engineers allows Tutis to provide fast response support services to its customers. A full range of Telecoms services and expertise will be available to all customers.
A Telepresence solution has been deployed within the facility allowing customers to have access to an on demand service for High Definition conferencing services. The solution has been implemented in conjunction with AT&T.
Telecoms Customers Already On Board
Tutis have designed and implemented a high speed, carrier class DWDM network on a dark fibre ring connecting all the major London Telehouses. Whilst most major operators are establishing PoP’s at Tutis point the DWDM network allows customers to use services from the bandwidth provider of their choice for their services hosted at Tutis point.
In addition to providing customer connectivity, this network will be utilised to support 4G trials and demonstrations.
