38 years into its existence, Jamnabai Narsee school, a sprawling 7 storey structure in the very heart of Juhu has taken a step further in ensuring world class facilities for its students.
Online PR News – 07-December-2009 – – The entire work of uplitftment of school infrastructure started in the year 2005. Says Sujay Jairaj, alumnus and Trustee, “our infrastructure is on par with the best in the world, and we are a genuine international school offering IGCSE, ISC, ICSE, IB and NIOS.”
Acoustically advised by Jal Mistry and Nevil Daruwalla, the leak-proof, sound –proof auditorium that supports all kinds of multi-media technology and is multipurpose in the true sense of the word. Even the creators of the auditorium, which is a first for any school in the city, are in awe of their creation. “The imported soft board panelling on the walls of the auditorium makes it sound proof and the hall can also be used as an art gallery for exhibitions,” Sabbas Joseph of Wizcraft said. “The auditorium will take entertainment for children to a different level. When children, now-adays, are now getting into acting and dancing at an early age, this kind of resources only boost their performance and participation. The idea came from the school’s management and we were always ready to help,” Joseph added.
The auditorium, among other things, boasts of the latest nail-less kalzip roofs; a product of the recent Tata-Corus joint venture. The imported soft-board paneling is made of sound proof material; so the hall can double up as an art gallery exhibitions. The hall also has seamless wooden matte flooring that can be used to accommodate sports activities during the monsoons. “The auditorium has a wooden scratch-proof surface, which will double up as a playground for our students during monsoon,” says Sudeshna Chaterjee, the school’s principal, said.
The one of its kind auditorium which has been set up by Wizcraft, a leading entertainment firm that organises Bollywood events — has multimedia technology support and is completely sound proof. Sushil Kumar Shinde, Union Minister of Power in the Manmohan Singh Ministry, and who in his earlier tenure as chief minister of Maharashtra has inaugurated the auditorium.
