Online PR News – 27-April-2011 – – A Cannock storage firm is asking customers to make a little extra space in their pockets this Christmas to brighten up the festive season for children who are in hospital.
Todd Cornehls, the manager of Your Self Store on Hyssop Close, is asking supporters to spare a few pounds to decorate a Christmas tree at the unit with gifts that will be given to children from the area who are staying in or visiting hospital.
He’s teamed up with David Shaw from gift supplier Creative Gifts who is offering toys and books at cost price for supporters to buy.
Todd hopes to fill the tree at work with gifts by the middle of December. The gifts will then be distributed to youngsters at Stafford hospital, which treats children from the Cannock and Stafford area, in the run up to Christmas.
“Christmas is all about children and we just want to send a bit of festive cheer to kids who are in the unfortunate position of having to spend part or all of their Christmas away from home in hospital,” said Todd, who opened the self storage business in July last year.
“We’ve already had a really great response with lot of presents on our tree but we still want more so we can give a great sack full of gifts to the kids.”
Julie Milestone, a play specialist at Cannock and Stafford hospital trust, said: “With the number of gifts Your Self Store have already got we’ll be able to hand out presents on the children’s ward and in out patients and A&E, where ever there are children in the hospital.
“We’re really grateful to the business and their supporters, it’s really kind to think of the children in hospital and the presents will bring a real lift to the children and their parents.”
