Online PR News – 05-October-2020 – SALT LAKE CITY – The Friends of The City Library in Salt Lake City is holding their first Just Read Jubilee on Saturday, October 24, 2020. This pandemic-friendly event is for readers of all ages to show their love of reading and support for The City Library. The Jubilee begins with a silent auction starting on Monday, October 19th with final bids accepted through Saturday, October 24th. The auction will include a large variety of items from jewelry to puzzles to trips. Auction items can be viewed and bids can be placed on the Friends’ website: http://http://www.slclibraryfriends.org. Funds raised from the auction will be used to support The City Library’s many programs.

Along with bidding on auction items readers can show their support on social media by virtually attending the event:

Where: Your cozy couch, your garden, your bed…wherever you like to read.

How: Select a book and take a picture of yourself reading. Post on Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter and tag #JustReadJubilee or #slclibraryfriends.

Attire: Party PJs, black tie or anything in between.

Who: Readers of all ages.

“Due to the pandemic, we’ve been unable to hold our used book sales, which are our largest fundraisers,” said Jeff Mower, Executive Director of the Friends of The City Library. “We’ve had to get creative to find fundraising options and give our public ways to support The City Library. That is why we are so excited to launch our first ever Just Read Jubilee. We hope ‘attendees’ will consider donating what they’d typically spend at a fancy gala or night on the town.”
