The Ole Miss Rebs-at-Home Interactive Fan-at-Home app extends the fan engagement to Ole Miss fans at home with fan experiences powered by Spark Compass.

Online PR News – 01-October-2020 – Oxford Mississippi and San Diego, CA – Total Communicator Solutions, Inc. (TCS), a leader in fan engagement and communications, brand management, contextual intelligence and data driven platform development, has taking the University of Mississippi’s Ole Miss “Rebel Rewards powered by Coca Cola” to new levels of fan engagement with the Spark Compass Fan At Home Fan Relationship platform.

Launched before the football season opener at Ole Miss, TCS’s Spark Compass™ platform enables the “Rebel Reels” which encourages and rewards fans interacting with and viewing Ole Miss videos and content while at home. The At Home engagement is based on the patented Spark Compass contextually intelligent communication platform. Ole Miss Athletic department use the platform to activate and upload content such as unique videos to interviews, live behind-the-scenes and audio interviews – exclusively available via the “Rebel Rewards powered by Coca Cola” app interface.

With the new “Rebels at Home” feature each fan that use the app interface to take a selfie wearing Ole Miss branded gear and clothes while at home or in the stadium while watching Ole Miss games on TV can also earn points.

Ole Miss Athletic department also selects fans to highlight and promote within the app with a new fan featured each week. These interactions add to the already deployed Rebel Rewards Loyalty Point systems. Now in its 6th year, the platform and app has a dedicated fan base that exceeds 23,500 students year after year.

“With our Home Team campaign, Rebel fans across the country feel involved with game day no matter where they are. Fans can still earn points for attending home events, but now they can earn points by watching videos uploaded through the platform, and also engage at home with the Rebs through ‘virtual attendance’ by submitting selfies that showcase their Rebel pride to earn even more points” states Paris Buchanan, Athletic Director of Marketing for Ole Miss Athletics.

COVID 19 left the athletic world scrambling for solutions to keep fans engaged on game day, and to keep sponsors engaged with fans. As Mr. Buchanan stated, “partnering with our sponsors to create a unique game day experience during these unprecedented times is a priority. Rebel Rewards allows us to connect and maintain relationships with all of our partners in more ways than ever before, while providing fans experiences that connect them to our brand and teams.”

The Ole Miss and TCS partnership focuses on one goal, to create meaningful fan relationships. . As Buchannan puts it, “Spark Compass works around the clock to make sure our objectives are met. The team Erik has built is committed to helping achieve my team’s goals and making our vision come to life with unique and interactive technology to increase engagement among our fan base.”

“Ole Miss continues to enthusiastically pioneer new features and technologies that allow the app to be reinvented almost continually,” said Erik Bjontegard, CEO and founder of Total Communicator Solutions, Inc. “Our global team has done a remarkable job working with Ole Miss to create and launch this new evolution of fan relationships during these challenging times. Now more than ever, teams and leagues need to communicate and build relationships with their fans wherever the fans are. Ole Miss is already doing this with deeper integrations and engagements using this powerful communication tool. Exciting times!”

The Rebel Rewards app has become a key driver of the Rebel Rewards program, established in 2009 to increase student involvement with Ole Miss athletics. The app, introduced in 2014, is powered by the Spark Compass platform to leverage users’ location on campus - and now at home - and delivers messages and experiences, in addition to Rebel Rewards points that are awarded automatically when users attend Ole Miss sporting events or engaging with Ole Miss content within the Rebel Rewards app. More than 400 beacons have been installed across the sports facilities on campus. The Spark Compass platform has gathered more than 140 million physical world fan behavior data points.
