QBE Asia has made Insurance Business Asia’s inaugural Top Insurance Workplaces list

Online PR News – 17-September-2020 – Singapore – QBE Asia has been recognised as one of the best places to work in the inaugural Top Insurance Workplaces report released by Insurance Business Asia. The prestigious list spotlights the companies that excel above all others within the industry, distinguishing them as a top workplace and heightening their profile as an insurance employer of choice.

“The insurance industry has faced another challenging 12 months, due to intensifying regulations, economic uncertainty, and the unprecedented and ongoing COVID-19 crisis. During these challenging times, insurers need to rise to the occasion, not just to support impacted customers, but also to ensure their workforce remains safe and healthy, engaged, and productive,” says the Insurance Business team. “The employers in Insurance Business Asia’s Top Insurance Workplaces list were judged based on their performance in a number of areas, including remuneration, training and professional development, diversity and inclusion, and culture. This year, 21 companies have achieved the distinction of Top Insurance Workplace.”

QBE Asia recognises the value of an empowered workforce and believes that diversity and inclusion is essential for a strong, successful company. QBE Asia fosters a collaborative work environment that encourages its people to work together to innovate and solve problems. It also has open and transparent communications, a supportive culture that pushes each staff to achieve results, and an adaptable, technically strong workforce that is agile and responsive to the changes that impact the business and its customers.

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak since February, QBE Asia has also launched a broad range of virtual wellness programs that offer additional emotional and resources to support employees’ engagement, health and wellness, such as professional counselling, stress management to fitness sessions. Regular virtual company meetings were conducted as a continuation of events during the pandemic to alleviate any worries or anxieties employees may have about the business.

“At QBE Asia, we believe in having an empowered and engaged workforce, that works together and supports one another,” said Chandrani Chakraborty, Head of HR Asia and Group Head of Capability & Learning Strategy. “We are delighted to have been called out as one of Asia’s top insurance employers and will continue to find innovative ways to support and empower our people in their roles, both personally and professionally.”
