LoveBug and Me Music’s music curriculum is shining a spotlight on diversity in their upcoming online fall music series starting the week of August 31st.
Online PR News – 31-August-2020 – Los Angeles – LoveBug & Me Music’s award-winning music curriculum is shining a spotlight on literacy and diversity in their upcoming online fall music series, “The Story Garden,” starting the week of August 31st. This popular Los Angeles-based program, geared towards infants through 6 years of age and their caregivers, will bring children's books to life through singing, dancing and imaginative play. Their book selections include traditional favorites and lesser known books that feature diverse cultures and characters.
“Children are never too young to learn about diversity,” says LoveBug & Me owner, Mary Arden Gorman. “We know that kids first learn by watching and listening. Starting them off with books that show varied skin colors, cultures and family structures, as well as introducing concepts such as inclusion and kindness, is a great way to plant the seeds of equality and acceptance.”
During this time of COVID-19, families are looking to online education and entertainment for their children. LoveBug & Me Music teachers, called Magical Music Educators, perform live-streaming, interactive classes daily, allowing families to connect with friends, families and classmates from around the country. “I’m so grateful to have found this online program. Being a first time mom during a pandemic is pretty tough, and LoveBug classes are such a bright spot for us!” says Katherine Hamilton of Los Angeles, CA, mother of a 4 month old son.
As a supporter of many local and nationwide organizations, LoveBug & Me donates a portion of every series registration to charity. Reach Out And Read (ReachoutAndRead.org) will be their fall charity recipient. This organization trains doctors and nurses to educate parents about the value of reading, and provides books to an estimated 1.7 million kids each year. LoveBug & Me also offers scholarships to economically disadvantaged students, which has been helpful to families who have suffered the loss of income during the pandemic.
