Southeast Addiction Center announced they will provide tele-health services for ongoing support during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Online PR News – 15-August-2020 – August 14, 2020 / Norcross, GA – On Thursday, drug rehab and alcohol treatment program, Southeast Addiction Center has announced they will provide tele-health services to those already involved in their treatment program for ongoing support during the Coronavirus pandemic. COVID-19 presents unique challenges in handling substance use disorder. As the pandemic continues to evolve, so does the opioid epidemic.
Protective shelter-in-place orders have increased isolation for those struggling and decreased access to a number of treatment facilities resulting in a higher risk factor for substance abuse relapse. To address the urgency of the evolving situation, Southeast Addiction Center has implemented a number of resources for their current clients to not only receive the services they need, but also stay safe from risk of contracting COVID-19.
“We’re happy to announce this vital change with our program in hopes that it helps immunocompromised individuals who are struggling with substance use disorder receive the help they need,” stated Executive Director Nicholas Diamantides.
The news comes as a relief in response to Gwinnett County crossing the 20,000 mark of confirmed cases. In the county alone, there are now 20,685 confirmed cases of Coronavirus. The facility plans to implement not only telehealth services, but the following protocols:
- All admits are tested upon admission
- Staff and patients are tested weekly
- Masks are supplied to each client, smaller groups are ran and social distancing is encouraged
