Brooklyn manufacturing company 5MMASK partners 67th Precinct Clergy Council to Protect Police, Precinct by Precinct!

Online PR News – 29-May-2020 – Brooklyn, NY – Brooklyn based mask manufacturing company 5MMASK partners with faith based community organization the 67th Precinct Clergy Council to Protect Police, Precinct by Precinct! Brooklyn’s 5M Mask Making Militia (5MMASK) and the 67th Precinct Clergy Council’s God Squad have partnered to launch a Covid-19 philanthropic initiative “PROTECTING our POLICE, PRECINCT by PRECINCT” known as (4P) outfitting Brooklyn’s 23 police precincts with washable and reusable face masks branded with the NYPD logo. The initiative started with a soft donation to the 67th police precinct on May 13, 2020.

Brooklyn has been heavily impacted by Covid-19 with more deaths than any other county in America. As of May 26, 2020 Brooklyn’s Kings County has 4,846 deaths. The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is the largest police department in the United States, with 36,000 officers. Over the month of June, 5MMASK along with the 67th Precinct God Squad will continue to donate the 5M – VP2 mask on a precinct by precinct basis, to every police officer in Brooklyn as the officers continue to provide safety to Brooklyn residents affected by Covid-19.

“I am tired of seeing our officers in uniform, with these disposable masks that are incongruent with their uniforms. Some officers decided to purchase a few masks from 5MMASK and we decided we’d like to do something more philanthropic than just selling masks to a few officers. We began the 4P initiative to give officers free NYPD branded masks that matched their uniforms. These masks are washable and reusable, and work perfectly together if the officer decides to wear a N95 mask inside of our 5M – VP2 design. It is both economically better than the disposable mask, but also better for the environment long term as we will have to figure out how to properly dispose of all these disposable plastic masks when this pandemic has subsided,” said 5MMASK owner Zam Barrett.

The 5M – VP2 self filtering mask is made from the highest quality fabrics, providing a comfort fit for longwear and detailed construction for repeat use. Combating the disease and navigating its impact on the borough of Brooklyn is a continuous battle. 5MMASK has currently donated $30,000 worth of masks to non profit organizations, community members with underlying health conditions, and frontline workers fighting to aid in flattening the curve including members of the UPS and USPS.
5MMASK is now finalizing details to donate masks to MTA workers across the city of New York. On April 29, 2020 for National Denim Day, 5MMASK donated 200 masks to Brownsville non-profit organization CAMBA’s Magnolia House Women’s Shelter catering to women of sexual violence and abuse. Brooklyn’s Borough President Eric Adams continues to wear a customized 5MMASK daily.

Masks in various designs are available for purchase at http://www.5mmask.com, each purchase supports ongoing donation initiatives citywide.
