Lightning transaction values raised at Bitcoin Halving

Leading Asia based online travel agency, has increased the transaction value allowed via the Lightning Network pathway having found sweet spot for sales values.

Online PR News – 14-May-2020 – Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – Future.Travel, the global Asia based online travel agency that accepts Bitcoin BTC - Lightning Network payments via Neutronpay, the Canada based BTC payment processor, has increased the transaction value allowed via the Lightning Network pathway. “Following the upgrade of the Lightning Network to LND 0.10 which allows for maximum payments of 0.167 BTC per transaction, we are now able to accept Bitcoin payments via the Lightning Network gateway to a value of approximately USD$1350.00. That is a huge jump from the $350.00 previously in place.” said David Watson, General Director of Future.Travel

Watson continued, “We have hit the sweet spot for payment values with Bitcoin given most flight and hotel bookings online fall in the $400 to $1200 range. With the low merchant cost of acceptance and near instant payment we are confident of the Lightning Network pathway quickly catching up with traditional Bitcoin volumes as users continue to hold their Bitcoin and only everyday spend them via something like a Lightning wallet.”

The launch of the increased transaction values coincided with the halving of mining reward values for Bitcoin on May 12th 2020, which removed some volatility from the math based currency and is slated to increase the value of Bitcoin due to the scarcity of coins as they become more difficult to mine.
