Longtime CEO Jon Boyd stays on as Chairman of the Board

Online PR News – 05-April-2020 – Chicago – Chicago-based structural engineering and architecture firm Klein & Hoffman named Homa Ghaemi its new Chief Executive Officer. Ghaemi steps into the role, while current CEO Jon Boyd steps down. Boyd remains in his role as Chairman of the Board.

After 19 years at Klein & Hoffman, Boyd returns to his roots as a Licensed Architect and Structural Engineer while continuing to focus on advancing the technology used in the firm's work and growing the focus on building sustainability and energy efficiency. Under Boyd's leadership, Klein & Hoffman has been named to Crain’s Chicago’s Best Places to Work list three years in a row due to its collaborative and creativity-focused culture. Boyd’s primary area of practice for the last two decades has focused on building enclosure systems both new and pre-existing, preserving and improving older facades and helping to make new construction work better and to be more sustainable and eco-friendly.

“I do not consider this transition to be one door closing and another door opening,” says Boyd. “This has been a gradual and natural transition that has been in the works for over a year.”
Homa Ghaemi, COO and Senior Principal, has been with the firm for 19 years. Having worked closely with Boyd for years, Ghaemi plans to continue to grow the firm and develop the team-based culture "Working Together. Building Integrity." Ghaemi is a licensed structural engineer with over 35 years of experience, domestic and international. She received her Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University and her MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
“Klein & Hoffman is a company where people want to come to work because the business is for the people, not the other way around,” said Homa Ghaemi. "Our culture is built on collaboration, and by working together we deliver exceptional results for our clients. As the CEO, my job will be to listen to our employees and our clients and learn from them, facilitate growth of our staff and business, and help prepare us for a future with uncertainties as well as opportunities. My motto: Be the Change You Want to See in the World”.
