In celebration of the International Women’s Day 2020, Kinnaird Centre for Learning and Cultural Development organized An interactive panel discussion.

In celebration of the International Women’s Day 2020, Kinnaird Centre for Learning and Cultural Development , in partnership with UNWOMEN and Punjab Population Innovation Fund (PPIF) organized An interactive panel discussion of inspiring women leaders/activists, parliamentarians, government institutions, academia, sector specialists, media and students. Uzma Kardar MPA , Musarat Jamshed Cheema MPA, Amna Akhsheed GM PPIF ,Ayub Ghuari CEO Hospitall and Hafsa Mazher from UN Women Joined the discussion.

This was followed by Excellence Awards presented to leaders in Women Empowerment and health to recognize the achievements of women leaders who are inspiring today’s youth for a progressive and inclusive Pakistan.

Awardees Include: Mishal Husain Malik; Activist for Kashmir Freedom, , Hafsa Mazhar; UN Women , Nabila Zar malick; UN WOmen, Nighat Jawad CEO YUMZ food, Dr kanwal Ameen ;VC Home Economics University and College, Amna Shaan Shahid, Nasreen Javed; Principal Govt Islamia College for Women Cantt., Selina Rashid Khan; CEO LOTUS and Model Mehreen Syed.

The objective of this event was to celebrate social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

The year 2020 is especially important as it marks the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action; the most progressive roadmap for the empowerment of women and girls, everywhere, the 20th anniversary of UN Security Council resolution 1325 on women, peace and security; and the 10th anniversary of UN Women’s establishment.

Global Youth Advocate of United Nations Mr. Rizwan Anwar and Director KCLCD Maha Jamil also addressed the Participants.

Event also showcased the Cultural performances from all the provinces of Pakistan.
