Billyard Insurance Group has made this year’s Insurance Business Canada Top 10 Brokerages list
Online PR News – 09-March-2020 – Toronto, ON – Ontario-headquartered Billyard Insurance Group has been named one of the best in Canada in the annual Top 10 Brokerages report, released by Insurance Business Canada (IBC) magazine. Now in its seventh year, the list celebrates each brokerage’s significant growth and achievements in 2019.
By using a ‘handicap’ formula, IBC can evaluate brokerages of all sizes on an even playing field. In addition to focusing on metrics of size and volume – such as revenue and number of clients – IBC also looked at brokerages’ year-over-year growth. To be considered for the Top 10 Brokerages list, each company had to provide key details about its business in 2019, including revenue, policies written, number of brokers and profit margin. Then, each brokerage was ranked according to 11 criteria.
Speaking to Insurance Business about their success in 2019, President Stephen Billyard spoke about the company’s significant expansion and growth with the company opening 10 new commercial storefront locations and hiring 177 new employees to its workforce.
“To drive growth at this rate we expanded our leadership teams, technology platforms, training, recruiting and support systems to effectively handle and manage these critical growth elements at volume.”
Billyard also highlighted the firm’s focus on its people in order to maintain its competitive edge in the market – “BIG is a people-focused company – we take care of our brokers, and our brokers take care of their customers.”
