Alondra Chatman, an Oakland resident and East Bay Business owner, won the Ms. Olympia title from the International Natural Bodybuilding Association.
Online PR News – 25-November-2019 – Oakland, CA – Alondra Chatman, owner of The Inner Athlete, won the Gold Medal and $5,000 in the Professional Women's Open Figure division of the 22nd annual Natural Olympia hosted by the International Natural Bodybuilding Association (INBA), an organization of elite natural athletes dedicated to drug-free sports. The event, held in Las Vegas last weekend, included amateur and professional athletes from more than 60 countries around the world.
"It is an incredible honor to win. It has been a goal of mine to win the Olympia since I began competing, especially after taking 4th place in 2018. There were some early morning and late night training sessions that made me question myself - but standing on the podium and hearing our National Anthem play made it all worthwhile," Chatman reflected.
Chatman, who has competed in numerous competitions throughout the country and internationally, faced some of the event's toughest competition in her division of 22 elite natural athletes from across the globe. The Inner Athlete's competition team co-coach, Juel Rice, commented, "It was an epic victory…the judges confirmed what we already know, Alondra is the best in the world, nobody works harder or more consistently than she does."
Chatman's efforts and poise have propelled her into the media spotlight. She will be featured in the December 2019 issue of Ironman Magazine and is currently being followed by a film crew from Generation Iron 4 - an upcoming Netflix feature length documentary highlighting natural bodybuilding athletes' journey to the stage at the 2019 Natural Olympia.
Now that she has achieved her goal of gold at the 2019 Natural Olympia, Chatman has set her sights on defending her title of Ms. Natural Olympia Figure in 2020 and continuing to grow her business with local partnerships while increasing awareness in San Leandro and the surrounding communities about health and fitness. Chatman is looking forward to growing her team of trainers at her San Leandro location as well at reaching clients worldwide through online/virtual training, hosting training classes and boot camps around the world, hosting fitness retreats at the best vacation spots abroad, working on a meal prep cookbook that is long overdue and launching a line of Inner Athlete branded supplements and apparel.
Chatman, who has owned and operated The Inner Athlete in San Leandro for the past 13 years, not only competes herself but also trains local professional, collegiate and amateur athletes - as well as everyday clients who just want to be the fittest version of themselves. Chatman pushes her clients as hard as she pushes herself. She is passionate about helping people achieve their fitness goals and works with men and women of all ages, sizes and levels of athleticism.
