Nova Scotia province conducted a draw for nursing applicants who were keen to settle in Canada. The draw selected 430 Nurses with no minimum CRS cutoff.

All the 430 individuals who were invited had created their profile in the Express Entry system, which typically manages the pool of candidates for three of Canada's High-Skilled economic immigration programs — Federal Skilled Trades Class , the Federal Skilled Worker Class, and the Canadian Experience Class.

The Labour Market Priorities Stream is an immigration stream that allows the province of Nova Scotia to search the Express Entry pool for candidates who have work experience in occupations that face labour shortages in the state and invite them to apply for Nova Scotia provincial nomination( and process further for permanent residence in Canada.

By getting a provincial nomination you can get an additional 600 points towards the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for immigration to Canada and guarantees you an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada.

This round of draws did not have any minimum CRS cut off and was the fifth draw conducted this year for the province through this particular stream and mainly targeted candidates in the nursing profession, whereas earlier draws targeted elementary teachers, masons, carpenters, financial auditors and others. Nursing candidates invited by Nova Scotia in the October 28 draw have to meet the following criteria in order to be considered for a provincial nomination

Candidates who applied for the draw needed to satisfy the following criteria

1. They should have worked as a registered nurse or psychaitirc nurse as their primary operation
2. They should have three or more years of work experience in their field
3. They should satisfy the criteria of CLB of 8 or more in English and/or French in listening, reading, writing and
4. They should have successfully completed their under graduation in nursing or completed a program on nursing of
three years or more at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute.
5. They should have submitted their Express Entry profile on or before 1st Nov 2018

Those who were issued the invitations have a period of 30 days from the date of their invitation in which they can complete and submit their application. The NSNP enables the province of Nova Scotia to nominate a preset number of candidates to apply for immigration to Canada( each year through nine different streams which are tailored to the specific economic and social needs of the province.
