The family-friendly celebration of electronic gaming will be held Friday through Saturday, October 4th-6th and will feature several tournaments, including an official Galaga Tournament hosted by GalagaForum.com. There will be a ceremony unveiling several new cards in the Walter Day Video Game & Pinball Trading Card set, a Hall of Fame autograph session, an official Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and a "Where's Walter?" scavenger hunt.

Some notable attendees scheduled to attend:

Brian Colin: CEO of Game Refuge Inc and game developer (Rampage, Arch Rivals)
Walter Day: Founder of Twin Galaxies and game industry pioneer
Donald Hayes: Multiple world record holder (Centipede, Space Invaders)

Gaming legend and Berzerk World Record holder Joel West, who passed away recently and who has been featured in LIFE Magazine and films like "Chasing Ghosts", will be remembered in a Celebration of Life Ceremony at the Twin Galaxies plaque on Main Street in downtown Ottumwa on Sunday morning.

"It is our duty to acknowledge the massive contributions these honorees have made to the world of Arcade Gaming and e-Sports with their well-deserved inductions," said Mr. Jerry Byrum, President of the International Video Game Hall of Fame.

Ottumwa is the birthplace of competitive video gaming. In 1982 Mayor Parker and Governor Brandstad declared Ottumwa the "Video Game Capital of the World", in large part due to the visionary efforts of Walter Day and the legendary Twin Galaxies arcade to track scores and hold refereed contests.

Ticket prices to the Galaxies of Gaming 2019 event start at $12. A full schedule and more information can be found at the website http://ivghof.info.
