Atlanta International Fashion Week's Fashion Apprentice Program encourages, guides, and educates young girls on the ins and outs of the fashion industry.
Online PR News – 24-September-2019 – Atlanta, Georgia – Atlanta International Fashion Week is investing in the future of fashion with their youth mentorship program, Fashion Apprentice. The program allows emerging talents interested in the fashion, design, beauty, and retail industry to gain hands on experience and education.
This year, the Fashion Apprentice Mentor Program will be expanded to include twenty girls, also known as "Pretty Apprentices," in order to facilitate and accommodate more creative minds. AIFW is partnering with Ivy Prep Academy to allow a group of girls to design, create, and then present their accessories in a fashion show at the end of the program. Through enrichment programs, workshops, and seminars, the apprentices will learn about the ins and outs of the fashion industry whilst in a fun, encouraging, and educational environment.
The Fashion Apprentice's goal is to give a first hand look at how style, design, retail, and aesthetics collectively formulate the fashion industry and to guide the participants through mentorship. Various volunteers and mentors who have experience in the fashion industry will work with the fashion apprentices in honing their craft and developing their creativity throughout the program.
Alongside gaining experience and knowledge of the fashion industry, Fashion Apprentice encourages girls to celebrate their uniqueness through the promotion of positive body image and self-esteem. The apprentices will learn from both each other and the AIFW staff on their road to becoming tomorrow's leaders and future trendsetters.
