Online PR News – 10-September-2019 – Waukee, IA – Courtney Clarke has announced she will run for mayor of Waukee in 2019.
Courtney Clarke, husband Adam, and their four children are long-time residents of Waukee, Iowa. She has been a City Councilmember since January 2018. Her campaign has committed to remaining positive and will focus on three key areas. Those areas include working with metro and Dallas County communities to provide regional leadership and solutions, creating nonprofit and business partnerships to support housing and job opportunities, and maintaining a strong hometown community.
"Waukee is now the fifth largest metro area community and ranked as one of the best places to live" Clarke said. "While we've seen extraordinary growth, we can't solely focus on what is right in front of us. We have the opportunity to lead in how we build our infrastructure and solve problems today, because that will impact our city and our entire region for the next 20 years."
Courtney Clarke is a business leader - executive committee member of an institutional investment firm - and community advocate. She serves in a variety of volunteer capacities, including as a board member for the Iowa Child Advocacy Board and the Central Iowa Workforce Development Region 11 CEO Board and as a missions team member for her church.
"Through my professional career and volunteer roles, I've learned the incredible importance of building partnerships to create solutions. I know I can bring that experience for Waukee," Clarke said. "In order to make bonds stronger, you have to build bridges, not tear them down. To that end, I am committing to running a clean and positive campaign. I promise residents I will focus on how I believe I can best lead Waukee."
Local and school elections will be held Tuesday, November 5.
