BYD will be hosting a panel on Designing Smart, Sexy Transportation at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegence
Online PR News – 02-August-2019 – Los Angeles, CA – Experts in transportation strategy, auto design and architecture will discuss how to make the future of urban mobility both smart and stylish at a panel discussion hosted by BYD (Build Your Dreams) at the world-famous Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegence.
With Concours d'Elegence, one of the world's premier events geared toward auto design and beauty as a backdrop, this panel will look at one of today's critical issues -- how to make urban transportation more efficient, sustainable, and stylish. This panel will discuss how to blend technology and architecture to create smart transportation systems. The panel will look at what is available now - and what is coming in the future - in terms of battery-electric cars, autonomous vehicles and automated straddle rail systems like SkyRail.
The panel will also showcase BYD's commitment to elevating the state-of-the-art in design of vehicles that utilize green technology.
Titled "The Outlook for the Future of Urban Transportation: Battery-Electric Cars, Autonomous Vehicles, and Advanced Rapid Transit," the panel will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at The Inn at Spanish Bay, 2700 17 Mile Drive, Carmel.
Panelists include Wolfgang Egger, Hernán Kraviez and JF Finn III. Thomas Stone, BYD's senior strategic advisor, who has more than 40 years of experience with transit technologies, will moderate.
"Although the Pebble Beach Concours is all about cars, we also are thinking about how to improve urban mobility in an environmentally sustainable manner to better serve future generations," Stone said. "This panel will address the current and future potential for battery-electric vehicles, battery-electric people movers, and automated monorail; and will address how improved design quality can help assure this objective is met."
Egger, a renowned auto designer, joined BYD in 2016, serving as the company's global design director. Egger has 30 years of design experience working with some of the world's best-known brands, including Alfa Romeo, Audi, Lamborghini and Volkswagen.
His team includes JuanMa Lopez and Michele Jauch-Paganetti, in leading a new revolution in vehicle design for BYD. The three designers are blending technology, function, and beauty into cutting edge vehicle designs.
