This Summer Brings Big Opportunities for Denver's Local Artisans & Colorado Makers

New Denver event series in conjunction with Tennyson Arts District and First Friday Art Walks: part pop-up, part market, part runway show, a truly new concept.

Online PR News – 15-May-2019 – Denver, CO – Introducing an exciting new concept in
Denver's fashion, maker, and summer market scene: Yates Street Collective Summer Pop-Up Series. By participating or attending a Yates Street Collective event, you will directly influence the Denver economy in a positive way. We'll cheers to that!

The mission of the Yates Street Collective is to promote Colorado Makers, Independent Designers, and Colorado Event Culture by producing events with two goals in mind: having fun and keeping currency local.

Created by two of Denver's own Makers, Kait Thomas of Nuorikko and Styled By Kait and Kodie Ketchbaw of Ketch -- a boutique, who both share the same desire of helping Colorado's makers, designers, and small business owners expand their reach within the local community.

"We are incredibly passionate about bringing exciting, new opportunites for Denver's talented designers and makers to meet up with the great people of our vibrant neighborhoods. The concept of the Yates Street Collective Summer Pop-Up Series is designed to showcase those who create artistic goods, decor, food and more in a way that gives them a platform and visibility that other farmers markets, bazaars, and markets do not offer. We are all about showcasing the products our amazing fellow makers spend their time and love creating and making sure that those who attend have a blast while they're there to check it out!" Kait says of her reasoning behind co-creating the Yates Street Collective Summer Pop-Up Series.

Kodie's intent is similar: "Ketch started as a mobile boutique called The Funky Trunk. Since this is where I got my start, I am passionate about supporting small business and creative entrepreneurs. Small, local markets provide a platform to showcase individuals who may not otherwise have the opportunity to do so, while also giving the community a chance to engage, interact, and support their fellow neighbors. These venues also create a sense of vibrancy in the neighborhood. The Yates Street Collective sat vacant and abandoned for years. The Summer Pop-Up Series will give the neighborhood a chance to see exactly what's "happening" on Yates Street this summer!"

This exciting new pop-up event is taking place in conjunction with Tennyson Arts District First Friday Culture Walks from June to September. Denverites are invited to join the Collective in 2019 and beyond as we continue to celebrate the community of small businesses, independent makers, local entrepreneurs, craft beverages, delicious food, and everything in between. We are excited to partner with Berkley's newest shopping, bring this unique concept to Denver's Northwest neighborhoods

The summer 2019 dates will be every first Friday from June-September: June 7th, July 5th, August 2nd, and September 6th.

The format: part pop-up, part market, part runway show, this event series is a truly new concept for Denver's community of local artists, designers, and creators. Over 30 local vendors, independent businesses, food trucks and more will come together to showcase what makes Colorado's artisans a unique and collaborative community With options ranging from booths to sidewalk tables and runway presentations, there is sure to be an option that works for every local maker! About Kodie Ketchbaw and Ketch -- a boutique

Kodie Ketchbaw, the owner and creative force behind Ketch, has spent years traveling and curating unique goods and uncommon wares from around the globe. She is passionate about Fair Trade and supporting artists, women, and communities both globally and locally. Ketch is proud to carry lines that benefit survivors of human trafficking, schools in Nepal, and has helped to raise women out of poverty in India, Uganda, and Guatemala, to name a few. In additional to launching Ketch, Berkeley's newest bohemian boutique, she also freelances as an interior decorator, is proud to be an AirBNB Super Host of her top-ranked Sunnyside property, and just celebrated 20 years as a Stewardess (that's what she likes to be called!) for Southwest Airlines. Ketch is named after her father, a former WWII Marine and Texas oilman whose portrait hangs proudly in the Gentlemen's section of the store; it's a nod to her family's heritage and the memory of both of her parents. She hopes that everyone that comes into Ketch can feel the LOVE that has gone into creating this space and will find something meaningful to make their own personal spaces more beautiful and inspiring every day.
