Online PR News – 09-April-2019 – Shenzhen, Apr 8th, 2019 – Shenzhen, Apr 8th, 2019 - RAKwireless Technology (RAK), an industry leader in advanced IoT technologies, announced today they are enhancing their Gateway portfolio by supporting LoRaWAN MQTT Bridge. The LoRaWAN Gateway Bridge is a service that abstracts the Semetch Packet-forwarder UDP protocol into JSON over MQTT. Using MQTT instead of UDP, makes it travial to monitor the data that sent and received by each gateway.
A gateway that have this service subscribes to MQTT topics related itself. A MQTT broker handles the routing of which uplink and downlink frames to send. Using the LoRaWAN Gateway Bridge, it is possible to use MQTT over TLS, meaning the transport between the gateway and the server is encrypted and secure.
The MQTT bridge is optional so users can continue to use the Semtech UDP protocol if they wish
RAK is providing a complete easy solution the enterprise building their own private LoRaWAN Network. No matter it is a small or a sizable network, RAK's solution is helping
"With a single gateway, you already own the complete LoRaWAN network infrastructure. The RAK gateway embedded with a NS and now supporting MQTT Bridge, which abstracts the Semetech Packet-forwarder UDP protocol into JSON over MQTT, transmitting your data to your application directly", said Ken Yu, CEO of RAK.
