The Cannon recently hosted the latest Global Legal Hackathon competition, providing technology that solve probelms in the justice system.
Online PR News – 13-March-2019 – Houston, TX – The Cannon, a fast-growing hub for Houston's entrepreneurs, hosted the latest Global Legal Hackathon (GLH) competition for the legal industry, providing opportunities for lawyers, software developers, and others involved in technology development to collaborate on projects that solve problems in the justice system.
The winning team developed a tool to assist lawyers in visualizing eDiscovery data, combined with the information used to manage the movement of that data through the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) process. Round one complete, the winners from each of the estimated 5,000 hackathons across the world move into the next round later this month—the virtual semi-finals. The finals will take place on May 4, 2019.
Managed by the Internetbar.org Institute (IBO), a member of The Cannon Community, the goal for these competitions is to bring people together under a unified vision to develop solutions that improve the legal industry. IBO organizes, gathers mentors, and provides support for all legal-based hackathons in Houston. Jeff Aresty, President of IBO said that the progress made at the hackathon "can help us reinvent how we make laws and devise a social contract that brings access to justice for all."
As Hackathons continue to grow in both size and frequency, their modern creative solutions to today's problems also grow. The Cannon is Houston's new hub for such innovation, serving as an incubator for these forward-thinking game-changers to thrive.
