Online PR News – 30-April-2009 – – The owners of International Beatles Freak Day (I-BFD) are proud to announce their Artist of the Month for May 2009, The Eggmen. The Eggmen are 7-time winners of the Austin Music Awards’ ‘Best Cover Band’ and in the 2005 National Music Awards they won ‘America’s Best Tribute Band’.
“When we saw they had won the Best Cover Band for six years, we decided to wait to see if they could pull it off again” says Jennifer Vanderslice, owner of I-BFD.com, “And when they won, we knew they were exactly what we were look for in an Artist of the Month!”
The Eggmen, formed in 1992, are individually known as John Burgess, Tom Burgess, Ronn Roberts, John Kovach, Steve Mackie and Brian Jepson. They take their tribute very seriously and play authentic instruments including: Rickenbacker, Gretsch, Epiphone and Hofner guitars; Ludwig drums and Vox amps.
This multi-award winning tribute band has opened for many legendary artists such as Herman's Hermits, The Grass Roots, The Turtles, Three Dog Night, and Big Brother & the Holding Company.
