Valentine's Day video for HomeGuru garners 5,000 views in 24 hours.
Online PR News – 24-February-2011 – – Kuala Lumpur, 22 February, 2011 - The search for the true property Guru is on for Malaysians, and joining in now are popular characters Ah Beng and Ah Lian, the well-loved characters from primetime TV sitcom Ah Beng, and record-breaking local movie Tiger Woo Hoo.
The duo share a home decorated in two contrasting styles – one with Ah Beng’s old-school setting of antique furniture and appliances, and the other, with Ah Lian’s preferred modern setting and soft colour tones.
The best friends constantly quarrel over the most trivial matters but were seen bickering on Valentine’s Day over their living quarters in an online video posted on www.trueguru.my. They have now chosen to go their separate ways in a desperate need for personal space and are individually hunting for a new home.
The video on the split, which was posted on February 14, 2011, garnered 5,000 views in 24 hours, growing to 21,550 views as of February 20, making it the fastest growing online marketing video in the country.
The video is part of the viral launch campaign for HomeGuru (www.HomeGuru.com.my) and is the first in a weekly series of four to be released. The second video will be released on February 22, 2011.
HomeGuru is the latest property portal in Malaysia and the Malaysian arm of AllProperty Media Pte Ltd, which owns Singapore’s leading property websites www.PropertyGuru.com.sg and www.CommercialGuru.com.sg.
Both websites are known for providing users with the most comprehensive and convenient search experience, where the award-winning PropertyGuru serves over 1.7 million home buyers monthly, of which more than 150,000 are from overseas.
AllProperty Media picked up the “CNBC World’s Best Property Award 2009”, “Best Property Portal Asia Pacific 2009” and “Best Property Portal Singapore Award” in 2008 and 2009 for PropertyGuru, and other accolades include the inaugural Singapore Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (SVCA) award for Best Performing Company 2010 and the Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF) award for Best E-Enterprise Company for 2010.
AllProperty Media is known for its innovativeness in and with its products and this campaign for HomeGuru emphasises that further.
“We’re all familiar with the problems and challenges that come with house-hunting and buying property,” said Steven Tan, Country Manager for HomeGuru Sdn Bhd.
“We felt the idea of having well-known characters, played by two of the country’s most popular celebrities and deejays with a huge following, facing the same dilemmas we have – getting incomplete information and not having the facts we need to make the informed choices we want – is something we can all relate to and sometimes see the humour in,” he added.
“Therefore, we at HomeGuru would like everyone in Malaysia, locals and foreigners alike, to know that house- and property-hunting will soon become a much more pleasant affair with us, the Malaysian property expert, being here to assist.”
