Grand National followers will be watching the Eider Chase closely this weekend to get some tips for the Grand National 2011 at Aintree in April.
The Eider Chase is seen as a rehearsal for the Grand National. In 2008, Comply or Die won the Eider Chase and went on to win the Grand National. With 25 fences and over a distance of 4miles it is a real test of stamina for jumps horses. Punters will get a valuable preview to the form of some Grand National Runners.
There are 17 entries in total for this marathon event. Some contenders for the title are Minella Boys who came second to West End Rocker in the Classic Chase last month. He missed the totesport.com Grand National Trial at Haydock in preparation for the Eider Chase. Other strong contenders are Belon Gale who is currently priced @50/1 for the Grand National, Giles Cross currently @40/1 for the National and Noble Concorde another Grand National hopeful.
