Footprint is a young company created last year?

In good Norman, I would say yes and no! The truth is the footprint is a brand new company designed and thought since 2007, created in 2010 but within a family-owned shoe manufacturing dating back over 60 years. My grandparents VICMAX created in 1946 and since then, each generation has contributed to the smooth functioning of the family business, with his ideas, know-how.

So you're the new generation, what have you brought to the family business?

I first had the opportunity to receive, in terms of knowledge, know-how, tradition and workmanship. The shoes we manufacture for many generations to meet requirements of quality and respect for work and men that we have preserved despite the sometimes difficult crises. My contribution is that the concerns are those of my generation: protecting the planet, concerns for sustainable development, need to take responsibility ...

Your shoes are branded products "sustainable development", you answer the criteria for a label?

Our goals are threefold. We want to control our economic footprint, social and environmental as we believe that sustainable development is not only environmentally friendly. No Label is now responding to these three objectives. Tent footprint harmony in its expectations, aspirations and ethical quality of its production. We got a label we're very proud that recognizes a large part of our values, the EPV (living heritage company) which enshrines our ethical approach and our know-how protected. This label emphasizes our approach to social and economic footprint. The next step for us is the European Ecolabel. We went on many points beyond the eco-label (we can "draw" our hides to the farm) and we have now begun the process.

So these are green products, socially responsible and quality? It's a lot for a shoe, right?

You forgot "fine" and when we try to make a good product, it is never "too! So yes, we try to put it all in our production, all these values but not at the expense of the product, our collections are thought trendy, very casual, this shoes are elegant and easy to wear.Adapted to any type of life that can accompany you all day working like a long weekend in Normandy, for example. Shoes every day, and since they are durable, shoes for life."Imprint" is a nice name for shoes! We are quite proud of that name, he wears so many concepts, meaning we were immediately convinced. The impression is both the ecological footprint we are talking more and more, but also the economic footprint, the footprint and all social values attached to them ... and then of course it is the footprint we leave on this planet, the traces that we draw from our actions, our decisions. I think this concern is not only mine, but on the contrary more and more divided, we are moving towards true responsible drinking.
