Combat stress support group signs lease for new office space to expand programs for American warriors with PTSD.
Online PR News – 16-February-2011 – – American Combat Veterans of War has been helping veterans and active duty personnel with PTSD and combat stress for over ten years. ACVOW is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based out of the Veterans Hospital in La Jolla, California - but not for long. ACVOW will continue helping warriors from its locations at the VA and Camp Pendleton, but on Thursday, February 16th at 12:00pm, ACVOW will sign a new lease for an office space just across the parking lot from another VA clinic in Oceanside. The new location at 3508 Seagate Way, #160, Oceanside, CA 92056 will be used as both a business office and as a facility to host their Safe Warrior Outreach Programs.
ACVOW is unique to other veteran support groups as it is made up almost entirely of combat veteran volunteers. The volunteers at ACVOW know what it is like to be in combat and are able to connect to our warriors in ways that trauma therapists and clergy cannot. The shared experience provides for a bond among warriors strong enough to influence treatment. ACVOW’s goal is to help as many warriors as possible lead productive and fulfilling lives by confronting and overcoming their trauma. ACVOW works with the VA and the DOD by encouraging warriors to seek treatment at the many facilities available to them.
The new office will be a useful tool for ACVOW programs. Since it is situated adjacent to the VA clinic in Oceanside, veterans will have convenient access to ACVOW services.
For more information about ACVOW, or to make a donation of time or money, visit the ACVOW website at www.acvow.org. ACVOW is always looking for volunteers and will certainly need furniture and equipment for its new office. All monetary donations go directly to ACVOW programs to support our warriors with PTSD and combat stress.
