Pre-reading Fun with Cat in the Hat - Saturday, March 5, 2011 at McAlister Square
Online PR News – 15-February-2011 – – Ready 4 Reading is excited to present our 6th Annual Pre-Reading Fun with Cat in the Hat. The event will be held at McAlister Square on Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 10am - Noon. The event is FREE. Families with infants through four-year-olds can visit 30 stations with age-appropriate games, rhymes, puppet shows, and stories. Volunteer hosts will speak to parents about the connection between the activity and pre-reading skills. Translators are available for Spanish speaking families. The activities are designed for parents to repeat at home. Children in the pre K age range help select two free books from a wider offering of new and gently used books. Volunteers assist with their choices; some books are available in Spanish, and some are suitable for elementary age siblings.
"Giving parents the skills to make reading fun at home, and ensuring that very young children have access to books in their home are the goals of Reading 4 Reading." said Dr. Sara Mansbach, Executive Director.
