Vampires, Vixens, and Vamp Tramps in Key West, show up in record numbers for a Vampalicious good time, Fantasy Fest 2009.
Online PR News – 04-November-2009 – – Despite the poor economy The Knowles house Bed and Breakfast in Key West was packed. Well, they've been packed for 12 years in a row!
The streets were jammed with costumed revelers, and party goers. From the pet masquerade, an island wide parade, and the annual head dress ball, Key West is the place to be on Halloween.
Last year in honor of the elections the theme of Fantasy Fest was Pirates, Pundits, and Political Party Animals. This year Fantasy Fest went from the darkness of politics to those creatures who walk in the night. Sexy Villains, Sultry Vixens, and Succulent Vampires walked the streets of Duval and flooded restaurants, bars, and hotels in record numbers.
According to the owners of the Key West Bed and Breakfast, The Knowles House: "This year our guests participated in many costumed events and contests. They dressed up in fantastic outfits that ranged from Angels to Devils. Many dressed to reflect the vampire theme. Their was even a Vampire Ball this year. I hope it didn't last until sunrise, no pun intended," chuckled Les.
"The weather was fantastic for all the outdoor events. It was a pleasure for Paul and I (Les) to watch our guests come back to our Key West guesthouse from their adventures and swap stories with other guests while unwinding by the pool."
Every year, a few guests ask us how Fantasy Fest got started. We always say it was started by a guy named Joe Lizka, back in 1978. He decided that the town was dead on Halloween. So, "he began an island wide costume party that has grown into a Vampa-licious good time." His plan obviously worked. Since 1978 folks from all over the world head to Key West Florida for Fantasy Fest. If you want to check out this Mardi Gras like week, you better book early as they fill up fast.
This Massive island-wide party will continually get people back to Key West. The owners of The Knowles House can't wait. I'm sure they are thinking about what costumes they will be wearing next year.
