HIMSS Utah hosts speakers at Utah State Capitol focusing on Health IT contributions to solving Utah's opioid crisis.

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Utah Chapter announce Utah Health IT Day: A Holistic Approach to the Opioid Crisis to be held on Feb. 7 from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. MST in the Centennial Room, located on the Utah State Capitol at 120 E Capitol St, Salt Lake City, UT. Chapter members and guests will be meeting with Utah state legislators for a broad cross-section of speakers addressing how health information technology is being used to address the opioid crisis in Utah and across the U.S.
Utah Governor Gary Herbert has declared February 7, 2018 “Healthcare Information Technology Day,” in support of efforts to better inform the people of Utah about the health benefits from improving health information technology.
The Utah Chapter of HIMSS (UHIMSS) provides statewide leadership for the advancement and management of healthcare information and technology. UHIMSS is dedicated to improving healthcare IT locally through advocacy, collaboration and education, and to promote quality patient care throughout the state of Utah.
