McIntosh is a graduate of the California Culinary Academy of San Francisco, a former private chef and owner of a catering and event company. She also tested and tweaked recipes in Sunset Magazine’s test kitchens. In Nesting Newbies magazine, her goal is to present newbie nesters with delicious culinary recipes they can use for their own entertaining. “So many people love fine cuisine, but they are often intimidated about making something from scratch, especially if there are more than three ingredients,” says McIntosh. “The magazine is upbeat and encouraging—and the recipes fit within the context of a young couple or young family’s lifestyle.
