Local Solar Company Provides New Alternative Financing Service
Online PR News – 03-February-2011 – – SAN DIEGO (February 2, 2011) – Locally-headquartered solar company, Sullivan Solar Power, recently announced it joined forces with premier full-service partner, SunRun, a company that provides a new and more affordable way for consumers to pay for solar energy. The new partnership will allow many homeowners in San Diego to go solar in 2011 and beyond that otherwise would not have been unable to do so.
Sullivan Solar Power, the top residential solar installer in the San Diego Gas & Electric territory according to California statistical data, had plans to install dozens of systems through alternative financing programs that never came to fruition in 2010. The company stated that this new partnership with SunRun will allow most of these projects to move forward because of the service aspect where homeowners pay monthly for the solar electricity they use – called a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
“We are really excited to have united with SunRun, who pioneered this service. This opens up solar technology to the suburban masses,” said Daniel Sullivan, founder and president of Sullivan Solar Power.
Homeowners will be able to go solar for little to no upfront cost, and typically homeowners save between 10-15 percent on total monthly power bills right away. Sullivan Solar Power’s offering through SunRun will not require homeowners to draw from savings or purchase using credit. The homeowner’s duration of payments will last over a 20-year period, allowing customers to insulate themselves from volatile electric utility costs.
“For homeowners who are looking to save money by going solar but do not have the upfront cash to pay it, Sullivan is now able to provide them with the means to make their wishes come true with the New Year. So far the response has been great and we expect 30 percent of our sales this year to be SunRun deals,” said Sullivan.
Sullivan Solar Power’s offering with the SunRun solar power service includes all maintenance, monitoring and insurance on the solar power systems installed. SunRun purchases the system, then monitors and maintains it. In return the homeowner pays a monthly fee that often reduces their overall power bill right away.
“If you are a homeowner with good credit and want solar on your roof, now you can have it. We are going to see a lot of San Diegans go solar as a result of this offering,” concluded Daniel Sullivan.
